Muttathu Varkey , birth centenary celebrations

will commence at his birth place at Chethipuzha near Changanassery in kottayam district.

The four-day celebrations will begin with a Vilambara Yatra on day one and a portrait camp being organised by the Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi the next day.
Fifteen artists will participate in the camp. They will draw the characters from Varkey’s novels.
Reprints of Varkey’s translation of Russian classic Dr. Shivago and six of his original works will be brought out as part of the celebrations.
