Mangala Devi Temple: ( 15 km from Thekkady) An anicent temple hiden in the dense woods,at the top of a peek(1337 m above sea level). ,this temple with ancient Kerala style of architecture will be opened only during Chithra pournami festival day. Permission to visit the area can be obtained from the Wildlife Warden, Thekkady. Ph:04869- 322027.

Chellarkovil : (15 km from Kumily) this village is famous for the breathtaking view of the plains and cascading waterfalls it offers.

Vandiperiyar: ( 18 km from Thekkady) The home town of a number of tea factories,Vandiperiyar is a major trade centre.River Periyar flowes through the cenre of this town.The Government Agriculture Farm and Flower Garden situvated in this town

Pullumedu (43 kmfrom Thekkady, 26 km from Periyar) A secluded place among the lush greenery,The place is accesseble only by jeep.
