Machad Mamangam

one of the important festivals of Central Kerala, is held at Thiruvanikkavu temple , trissur.Its called Thiruvanikkavu kuthira vela' locally. Here ‘poikuthiras' (hobby horses) are used in the festival instead of caparisoned elephants.
The festival is held at Machad, 4 km from Wadakkanchery. The festival takes placein the paddy fields located between Vazhani hills and Wadakkanchery town.
Thekkumkara desam , Viruppakka, Karumathra, Manalithara, Mangalam and Parlikkad deshams jointly conduct the festival.
